About Jerry Bley: For over thirty years, Jerry Bley of Creative Conservation, LLC, is an award-winning conservation consultant. He works with land trusts, families and individual landowners throughout Maine to plan the future of their valued properties. He also collaborates with land trusts to achieve their conservation goals.
Recently, Jerry worked on the Scammon Ridge Project, which conserves 3000 acres in our area. Jerry has completed scores of land conservation and land planning projects throughout the state and beyond. He enjoys taking on challenging projects that require bringing people together and devising creative solutions. In 2022, he received the Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Espy Land Heritage Award, an annual recognition of an individual or organization for exemplary conservation efforts in Maine.

Wayne was a great supporter of Friends of Wilson Ponds. We will all miss his sunny disposition and adventurous spirit.

Live Plant Identification Workshop in Monson in August
In this free indoor class, guests learn how to identify a number of common native and invasive
aquatic plants. This useful program covers basic botany, plant structure, and life cycles for
around 40 aquatic plants. Guests learn how to use LSM’s “Field Guide to Aquatic Invasive
Plants” to determine whether plants are native or invasive, discover which aquatic invasive
plants are infesting Maine lakes, and learn how to record and submit data as an invasive plant
patrol (IPP) volunteer. This class is required for those seeking Tier 2 IPP Certification through
LSM.
