Tri-County Technical Students Study Invasive Aquatic Plants

Invasive Plant Patrollers (IPP), Betty Ryder and Kay Johnson, traveled to Dexter on two Wednesdays to teach (and learn from) students at Tri-County Technical School (TCTS) in Dexter.

This is the second year that Friends' IPP-ers have been invited to teach high school students. We are honored to be asked. Our goals are to build awareness of invasive aquatic species and build awareness of how to tell invasives from natives.

The students were attentive and motivated as they were preparing to compete in an Envirothon in Augusta on April 29th. It was exciting to be back in the classroom. They taught us a few things about using the interactive map (go to the link below and have some fun).

Thank you to TCTS educator, Stephany Perkins, for inviting us.
